Power Up Shake

Pump up Shake.jpg

You will see many shake recipes in this blog and the reason for that, besides that I love them is that I am able to add so much nutrient into a glass that I can drink on my way to work or on my way to the gym or just on my way somewhere. This is a new recipe that I created with items in the kitchen. I was going to add pineapples, but my son ate them all, so I added apples instead. I am actually very please with that selection because it kept the shake with a more suttle flavor. I also did something with this recipe that I had not done with others and that’s calculate the calorie, carbs, fat and protein. This shake was very filling and helped control my hunger all the way past lunch and it was very tasty.

*Golden Delicious Apple – 1 peeled and chopped
*Banana – 1 frozen and chopped
*Spinach, Fresh – 2 cups
*Cashew milk – 1 cup
*Blueberries, fresh – 1/2 cup
*Matcha powder – 1 tablespoon
*Ginger, fresh – 1 teaspoon
*Vanilla Protein Powder – 1 scoop
*Water – 1/2 cup

  • Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend on the highest speed for about 5 minutes. I have found that the longer you blend the thincker the shake gets.

Tips: You can replace items or remove items that you may not want or have in the pantry. Just make sure to start with small quantities and then add more for flavor. Also, the milk can be replaced with almond milk or coconut milk also. Anything that you change will change the nutrients.
